




Libya’s Frontlines: IRIN (United Nations humanitarian news website) April 2011 The crisis in Libya began in mid-February 2011 and has since led to deaths, injuries and the displacement of thousands. These images show life as it unfolds at the frontlines.
It is midday in Dakar and a long queue snakes behind the American embassy. Smart Senegalese women clutch patent-leather handbags and folders of neatly filed paperwork. A short way off, in the bustle of Sandaga market, Dakar’s busiest, American-inspired hip-hop blares from shoddy speakers. But here there is silence.
